Privacy Policy
I am Adrienne Viall and I own and run Dyslexia Welwyn.
For the educational assessment of minors, I act as a data processor and use personal information under the strict instructions of those contracts. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Officer (ICO).
What data is collected:
- Personal details (name, DOB, address), sensitive personal data (including health, learning difficulty details), contact information and background information.
How it is collected:
-Email, questionnaires, phone calls and face-to-face during assessments.
Why it is collected:
-To provide a specialist assessment, deliver reports, and provide educational support and recommendations.
How it is stored:
-Data is stored securely electronically on a secure gmail account and also for a short time in paper form in a locked unit in my home office.
Data retention periods:
-Reports are often kept for 6 years for adults, or until a child turns 25, in accordance with legal obligations.
Who it is shared with:
-The reports are shared with the parents/carers. Only with explicit written consent will they be shared with other professionals, schools or workplaces.
Rights of the client:
-The client has the right to access, amend, or delete their data. Please note that I am required by law to retain certain data for legal and accounting purposes, which may limit my ability to fully erase your data.
Use of information:
-Personal information is used with explicit consent from parents or guardians and based on the professional and legal obligations required in the field of teaching and assessment.
